Golden Children

Congratulations Harrison and Marshall

I have decided to put Marshall in the Gold Book because not only does he make the teachers proud in FS2 with his excellent attitude to learning, I was delighted to read 2 "Magic Moment" slips from Mum and Dad. Marshall is using his skills learnt at school and applying these at home. Well done Marshall.

Harrison has an excellent "can - do" attitude. He has grown to not be afraid of new challenges but to be one of the first to give them a go! You make us so proud Harrison.

French Skipping!

This week we had a special visitor called Anthony come to work with all the classes at Fieldhead Carr. He taught us some brilliant games and how to do French Skipping.

Our first game was like the game 'Simon Says' but this game had a giant telling us what to do!

French Skipping uses 3 people per game. Two are 'enders' and One player goes in the middle. You can then swap one of the 'enders' and the player over. Anthony taught us how to play the game 'Bunny on, Bunny off' with the French Skipping elastic.

We had lots of fun!

Have a look at our photo's from the session.

April and Donnie begin their adventures

Our two new friends now have names. Say hello to April and Donnie. Today they are going for tea to Oliver's house. I hope they have lots of fun. I am looking forward to reading about it in their diary.

I hope you have fun Oliver.

Welcome back

It was lovely to see you all again today. I enjoyed listening to all your holiday news.
We have a busy week ahead and it started off this morning by reading one of my favourite stories.

Here is a collage of some photos from today to help you remember the story we read.

Can you tell your grown up what happened in the story?

Don't forget to ask them to save a 4 pint plastic milk carton for the craft we plan to do next week.

Golden Children

Congratulations Dillon and Caylem

I have loved watching Dillon outside this term, he is such a talented athlete and enjoys all things physical. He particularly enjoys building motorbikes and jumping over the brick walls he makes.

At lunchtime it has been noticed Caylem always sits sensibly and quietly when eating his lunch in the dinner hall. He knows he has to stay in his seat until the rest of the class are ready to go back to class. Well done Caylem.

Love was in the air this week

Many of the activities in class this week have been based around Valentine's Day.

We read a lovely story called "A kiss like this" by Mary Murphy and we talked about "Love" and what it means to love someone.

Here are some photos of the activities

Hope you all have a great week off.

A special thank you to Olivia for my valentine's card!

E-safety week

This week we have been finding out how to keep safe on the internet. To help us understand this, we watched an on-line story about a penguin called Smartie.

Click on Smartie the penguin to go to the story.

Here are some photos of the work from this week. Can you tell me about the games you play on-line?

Golden Children

Well done Olivia S and Rhys G

Olivia is such a friendly member of the class, she always greets her friends and teachers with a huge smile.

Rhys is always a busy bee in class, he really enjoys playing with his friend Robbie. This week he has been making a den with the crates and the tarpaulin outside.

Can I take a photo?

Staff in FS2 are always taking photos to capture children's achievements and activities. Elisia asked if she could too. Here are some of the photos taken by different children last week.

I think we will have a photo project next term, we have some great photographers!

...blue racing car. Daniel
...castle for me, Mummy and coco. I'd be a princess. Summer
...an ambulance to rescue people. Abigail
...transformer car, it's white and blue. It will be a friendly transformer. Dillon
...spaceship. Sam
...castle. Ellie G
...an aeroplane with beds in it. Olivia S-S
...Power ranger car. Joe
...house and I would live in it by myself. Connor
...boat, I'd go fishing. Riley
...ninja turtle bike and all four could fit on it. Afraz
...Rapunzel castle. The people will climb up my long hair. Olivia S

Chinese New Year

I am really looking forward to next week, we are going to be finding out about Chinese New Year.
Here is a video called The Great Race, it tells the story of the Chinese Lunar calendar. Did you know this is the year of the Horse?

What do you know about Chinese New Year?
Jared brought a dragon in on Friday because it was the beginning of the New Year celebrations.
Would you like to take part in a dragon dance this week?

Our week

Here is the slide show of everything FS2 has done this week. It includes using the pestle and mortars to make chalk paint and crush spices and herbs. Cardboard boxes have been a huge hit this week, we've played in castles, police cars, trains, and even an ambulance. Look out for Elisia's fabulous model of a tank she made with her big brother at home.
